Accommodation and room rentals
  • Summer season: overnight stays are always possible during summer. From mid-September onwards, we kindly ask for prior enquiries.
  • Winter season: overnight stays are available by request only.
  • Booking duration: we offer bookings for up to 2 nights; longer stays are unfortunately not possible.
  • Reservations: if you do not arrive by 6:00 pm, your reservation will be automatically cancelled.
  • Equipment & facilities: for dormitories, please bring a sleeping bag suitable for mountain huts. Our rooms are equipped with bed linen and towels.
Dogs

Dogs are not allowed anywhere in the hut, including rooms and dormitories.

Winter hiking & snowshoeing

Step into the serene beauty of snow-covered landscapes. From the car park through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park to the hut or onwards to picturesque viewpoints, every hike is an adventure.
 

Ski tours

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, the snow-covered slopes around the hut are an ideal starting point for ski tours. Highlights include the ascent to Monte Specie and the vast, untouched snowfields.
 

Cross-country skiing

The seven-kilometre trails on the Prato Piazza offer perfect conditions for cross-country skiers. From gentle loops to challenging altitude training, there’s a track for everyone.
 

Tobogganing

Family-friendly toboggan runs like those from Landro or Ponticello promise winter fun for all. Spend the day laughing, sledding, and enjoying the snowy scenery – an experience to treasure!

A place of tradition and heart: Our story

1968 – The mountain hut is built by Tristano Costantini.
1970 – The first guests are welcomed.
1972 – Ferdinand and Maria Mair take over the lease. Ferdinand Mair was a renowned ski instructor and mountain guide.
1982 – The Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park is established, offering valuable protection for this unique landscape.
1987 – Ferdinand and Maria Mair purchase the hut and continue running it with dedication.
1992 – A special moment – the Pope visits the hut.
2002 – The hut is expanded to accommodate more guests.
2008–2012 – Margit and Philipp Schwarz take over the lease, bringing new energy to the hut.
2012 – Elisabeth Ferdick becomes the new leaseholder.
2020 – Evi Baur takes over the reins, running the hut with passion and heart.
